2. Gather the Required Materials

Along with a valid passport, you’ll need to submit proof of business intent in Sri Lanka . Typically, this consists of a letter of invitation or request from a Sri Lankan company. If you’re attending a conference or event, a confirmation of attendance is also acceptable.

3. Complete the Application Form

Fill out the business-visa application form accurately and provide all requested information. Ensure that your personal and business details are correctly entered.

4. Submit the Application

Submit your completed application form and supporting documents to Entriva (or the Sri Lanka embassy or consulate). Follow the guidelines for submission methods, whether it’s in person, by mail, or through an online application system.

5. Pay the Visa Fee

7. Print a Copy of Your ETA

How long does it take to get a business visa?

Processing time takes an average of three business days.

Can I renew or extend my business visa?

ETAs can be extended  up to 270 days. You’ll need to apply once you’re in the country. The first extension application lengthens your stay an extra 60 days, and you can extend your ETA three times after that, up to 90 days each.

Can I apply for a business visa upon arrival in Sri Lanka?

No, you’ll need to apply for your business visa before your trip. Only three countries can get visas upon arrival  in Sri Lanka: Singapore, the Seychelles, and the Maldives.

Can I engage in work or employment on a business visa?

Yes, you can engage in work and business matters that fall under the list of permitted business activities (see above sections). If not, you’ll need to apply for a more permanent visa, like the Residence Visa, which allows for employment.

How long can I stay in Sri Lanka on a business visa?

The ETA Business Visa allows you to stay in Sri Lanka on business matters for up to 30 days. This visa does permit multiple entries and can be extended.

Is Sri Lanka’s business visa a multiple-entry visa?

Is a business visa the same as an employment visa?
