Important Information about Sri Lanka Visa Extensions
- Short-term ETA visas can be extended for a maximum of 270 days
- ETA visa can be extended three times: 60 additional days at the first extension, 90 days each at second and third extensions

1. Figure Out Which Forms You Need

Compile all the information and supporting documents listed below.
3. Fill out the Visa Extension Form
Once you’ve obtained the proper forms, you’ll need to provide your personal information, current visa details, and your reason for extending your stay. This can be completed via online application with Entriva.
4. Submit the Application Form
After completing the form, submit it along with your supporting documents, to Entriva, who will file it with the Immigration Department.
5. Wait While Your Visa Extension Is Processed
Allow up to two weeks processing time for a Sri Lanka visa extension. Make sure to keep your passport with its original visa stamp during this time, as you’ll need it to leave and enter the country.

Tourist ETA Visa
You will need to provide proof of your return air ticket and the address/phone number of your accommodations in Sri Lanka.
Business Visa
To extend your business visa, you’ll also need to submit proof of your business endeavors in the country, such as an invitation letter from a Sri Lankan company or a registration form from a conference

Penalties for Overstaying Your Sri Lanka Visa
If you’re unable to extend your visa and overstay your visa duration, the government of Sri Lanka imposes harsh fines. You’ll be charged US$500 if you overstay even by two days.
